Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

When trying to decide how to deal with your stress, try one of these four options:

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

—Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)

The 4 A’s—Avoid, Alter, Accept, or Adapt.

Avoid – Not all stress can be avoided, but if you can, try to eliminate some stressful situations.

Alter – If you can’t avoid a stressful situation, figure out what you can do to change things so the problem is avoided in the future.

Accept – Some stressful things you just can’t change or prevent, like the death or illness of a loved one, economic struggles, or getting into an accident.

Adapt – You may need to change your behaviors to help you relieve or manage your stress.
